1. Weather:
Weather was operational to marginal on the night of 19-20 December,
and operational during the 20th, however, fog restricted operations from
most bases. Broken to overcast clouds prevailed over most of Korea 2°
bove the 36th Parallel, becoming scattered by 1300 (KT). Minimum battle
area temperature was 30 degrees, maximum 51 degrees. Forecast:
Broken stratus clouds with 1-3 miles visibility in fog, improving to scattered
clouds and unrestricted visibility by noon 22 December. Minimum tem-
perature expected is 32 degrees in the battle area,
maximum 52 degrees.

2. Enemy Situation:
The enemy continued to make small probing attacks against UN positions
across the front. Mines were encountered north of Chorwon and least of
Kumsong. Artillery fire continued moderately heavy in the Kumsong area.
An unidentified twin-engine aircraft bombed and strafed the areas 12 miles
east and 15 miles southeast of Yonchon, in the I US Corps sector, between
201530 (KT) and 201540 (KT). The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for
19-20 December is 1,909, of which 1, , 086 were southbound. (FECOM)

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN forces repulsed scattered hostile probing attacks
and continued to engage squad- and platoon=size groups in patrol clashes.
The Turkish Brigade closed in an assembly area near Kapyong and reverted
to control of the 25th US Infantry Division. The 45th US Infantry Division
was attached to the I US Corps on 18 December. (FECOM) (SECRET)
