1. Weather:
Weather on 27 December ranged from clear to broken low and middle
clouds over Korea. Visibility was unrestricted. Maximum temperature a-
long the battle lines was 34 degrees; minimum 10. Forecast: Scattered
middle and high clouds with broken low clouds along the east coastal areas.
Visibility will be 3-5 miles in smoke and haze in West Central Korea.

2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy forces continued attacks against forward UN elements in the
vicinity of Amdong in the east-central sector, and several minor probing
attacks occurred in the east sector. Elsewhere across the front, action was
limited to light scattered opposition to UN patrols. A total of eight enemy tanks,
one self=propelled gun, and an undetermined number of tracked vehicles were
observed in the west sector. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for the
period 26-27 December is 1, 161, of which 821 were southbound. (FECOM)

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN elements in the east-central sector maintained their
defense of forward positions in a continuing see-saw fight. Elsewhere across
the front, friendly patrols continued to probe enemy defenses and engaged
scattered groups of from squad to platoon size. In the west sector, friendly
aircraft attacked five enemy tanks and friendly artillery fired on three enemy
tanks. Additional elements of the 45th US Inf antry Division relieved elements
of the 3rd US Infantry Division in the line southwest of Chorwon. (FECOM)
