minimum. Forecast: Broken low, middle and high clouds with scattered

2. Enemy Situation:
Platoon=strength enemy groups stubbornly opposed attacking ROK
forces northeast of Panmunjom. Several counterattacks in this sector
forced some UN withdrawals. Elsewhere across the front, groups of up to
reinforced company strength continued to oppose UN patrols. Mortar and
artillery fire increased in volume during the period. An unidentified jet
aircraft strafed friendly rear areas six miles southeast of Kumhwa on 11
January, with no casualties or damage reported. FEAF tentatively states
that this may have been result of friendly B-26 activity. The adjusted total
of vehicle sightings for 10-13 January is 1,113, of which 705 were south-
bound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: ROK forces attacked northeast of Panmunjom on
14 January, but were unable to gain against stubborn hostile resistance.
UN patrols continued to engage scattered groups across the front and re-
pulsed small probing attacks. The 160th Regiment of the 40th US Division
passed to operational control of the IX US Corps on 11 January, was further
attached to the 24th US Division on 12 January, and closed in an assembly
area northwest of Hwachon. Elements of the 5th ROK Division relieved ele.
ments of the 11th ROK Division IROK Corps sector. (FECOM) (SECRET)
