Weather: Weather was clear following the passage of a weak front. Visibility lim- ited 1 to 3 miles in the morning fog and haze. Battle area temperatures ranged from 14 to 40 degrees. Forecast: Clear over all Korea with occasional scat- tered low clouds, Visibility restricted 3 to 5 miles in early morning haze and smoke, Battle area temperatures will range from 10 to 25 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Three light probing attacks were made upon UN positions in the west and west-central sectors. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 21-22 January is 2g 891, of which 2g 339 were southbound (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a, General: UN forces repulsed light enemy probing attacks and and continued to engage scattered small groups in patrol clashes across the front. (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: Patrols from the 1st ROK Division engaged enemy squad- and platoon-size groups seven miles northeast of Panmunjom. Farther northeast, elements of the 1st British Commonwealth Division repulsed a probing attack by a small hostile group 10 miles west of Yonchon, A Divi- sion patrol engaged groups of undetermined size in the sector. Patrols from the 3d US Division engaged an enemy platoon west-northwest of Yonchon.
