Weather: Multilayered clouds, low ceiling, and restricted visibility during the pass- age of a cold front. Maximum battle area temperature 42 degrees, minimum 20 degrees. Forecast: Clear skies with occasional scattered low clouds. Visibility restricted to 1-3 miles in haze, Maximum battle area temperature 25 degrees, minimum 15 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Enemy activity was characterized by patrol intercepts across the front. Greater sensitivity to UN patrols was evident in the IX and X US Corps sectors. Several small-scale enemy probes were reported across the front. Light to moderate artillery fire was directed against UN forces on the eastern sector. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 6-9 March is 1, 382, of which 809 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a. General: UN forces continued to patrol aggressively across the front. Several small enemy probing attacks were repulsed. (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: Activity along the Corps front was relatively light throughout the period. Patrols of the 1st ROK Division reported engagements with squad- and platoon-strength enemy groups.
