Weather: Broken to overcast with ceilings from 1000 to 2000 feet in light snow and rain. Improved to scattered high broken later in the period. Maximum temperature 40 degrees, minimum 32 degrees. Forecast: Broken to over- cast with ceilings lowering to 2000 feet along the east coast. Clear over northwest Korea. Maximum temperature 35 degrees, minimum 20 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Three enemy attacks of company strength or larger were reported across the front, along with several probes of squad to platoon strength. Numerous enemy groups fired on friendly positions. The heaviest enemy activity was directed against UN forces on the east-central front. The ad- justed total of vehicle sightings for 13-14 February is 1, 208, of which 704 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a. General: UN forces repulsed numerous probing attacks during the period. Friendly ambush positions engaged several small enemy groups. (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: The 1st ROK Division reported no contact in its sector. An enemy squad engaged an ambush position of the ist British Commonwealth Division 10 miles west of Yonchon. Friendly troops with- drew to an outpost position where the same enemy was engaged. Farther northeast, a reinforced enemy company attacked outpost positions of the 3d US Division. Friendly forces withdrew to the MLR and later reoccupied the position without contacting the enemy. An enemy platoon=strength probe and an attack by an undetermined number of enemy on an ambush position in the Division sector were repulsed. Two hundred sixty-four rounds of mortar and artillery fire fell in the Division sector. The 45th US Division and the 9th ROK Division reported no contact in their sectors. (FECOM) (SECRET)
