1. Weather:
Scattered low and middle clouds. Light snow during early evening.
Skies became clear by day-break. Visibility unrestricted. Maximum
battle area temperature 43 degrees, minimum 20 degrees. Forecast:

2. Enemy Situation:
Only scattered, light patrol contacts and one small probing attack
were reported across the front. Enemy artillery and mortar fire were
directed against several UN Division sectors. The adjusted total of vehi-
cle sightings for 9-10 March is 412, of which 318 were southbound. (FECOM)

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN patrols encountered enemy groups of squad
to platoon strength across the front and repulsed one small probing attack.

b. I US Corps: Two enemy platoons forced an outpost of the
1st ROK Division to withdraw from positions northeast of Panmunjom.
Friendly elements counterattacked and reoccupied the positions. There was
no contact with the enemy in the 1st British Commonwealth Division sector.
The 25th Canadian Brigade relieved the 29th British Brigade in positions on
the Division left flank. A patrol of the 3d US Division engaged an enemy
squad northwest of Yonchon. There was no contact with the enemy in the
45th US and 9th ROK Division sectors. (FECOM) (SECRET)
