1. Weather:
High scattered clouds over all Korea. Visibility restricted to less than
3 miles in fog at west-central bases. Maximum battle area temperature 62
degrees, minimum 30 degrees. Forecast: High broken clouds to overcast
with showers. Visibility restricted to 1 to 3 miles in rain. Maximum battle
area temperature 50 degrees, minimum 35 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy activity across the front was relatively light. Squad- to company-
size enemy groups intercepted UN patrols. Sporadic enemy probing attacks,
the largest of which were platoon=strength, were launched in scattered locations
across the front. Light to moderate artillery fire was directed against UN
forces across the front, with the heaviest fire falling in the east-central
sector. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 13-16 March is ,948, of
1,210 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN forces continued to patrol across the entire front
against resistance from squad- to company-strength enemy forces. Several
small enemy probing attacks were repulsed. Elements of the ROK Capitol
Division passed to operational control of the IX US Corps effective 161630 (KT).
