1. Weather:
Multilayered clouds and low visibilities prevailed over Korea until 1100
(KT). West and south Korea cleared by 1800 (KT). Maximum battle area
temperature, 49 degrees, minimum 33. Forecast: Clear except for low
clouds on east coast. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy activity across the front was characterized by patrol intercepts
and by several small-scale probing attacks. Light mortar and artillery fire
was received in several sectors of the front. The adjusted total of vehicle
sightings for the period 17-18 March is 3, 286, of which 2, 137 were southbound.

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN forces continued to patrol across the front, en-
gaging enemy groups of squad and platoon strength. Several small-scale
probing attacks were repulsed. The ROK Capitol Division (minus) and Task
Force Paik passed to operational control of the IX Corps on 18 March. The
3d ROK Division passed from operational control of IX Corps to operational
control of Task Force Paik on 18 March. The 8th ROK Division passed to
operational control of the X Corps. (FECOM) (SECRET)
