1. Weather:
Weather for the period ran from multilayered clouds over all Korea
to broken low, scattered middle, and broken high clouds. Visibility
varied widely. Forecast: Scattered low clouds and unrestricted visibility.

2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy groups, the largest of which was two platoons in size, con-
tinued to probe UN positions in the western and east-central sectors. Mor-
tar and artillery fire was heaviest against the 25th US Division, north of
Yanggu, where more than 2, 400 rounds fell during the period. Six SP guns
were observed east of Pyonggang and were taken under UN artillery fire.
Air observed 8 camouflaged enemy tanks and 20 camouflaged vehicles (8 of
which were 12 feet by 20 feet in size) north of Pyonggang. Air also observed
seven enemy tanks north of Chinnampo on the west coast. The Turkish Bri-
gade received 3 rounds of artillery fire on 26 April that reportedly burst 300
feet above the ground. Inspection by Corps and Division chemical officers
for presence of gas resulted in a negative report. In the enemy order of
battle, the Fifteenth CCF Army has relieved the Twenty-sixth CCF Army
in the line near Pyonggang; Twenty-sixth CCF Army has moved northward
to the Yangdok area. The adjusted total of enemy vehicle sightings for the
period 23-27 April is 11, 807, of which 8, 079 were moving south. (FECOM)

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN forces repulsed enemy probing attacks and con-
ducted raider patrols in the Kumsong area late in the period, engaging groups
up to two platoons in size in all day fighting. An enemy company was engaged
north of Chorwon on 26 April. The 1st ROK Division relieved the 3d US Divi-
sion in the line southwest of Chorwon effective 262400 (KT) April. Elements
of the 3d US Division moved to assembly areas least of Uijongbu. The 7th US
Division relieved the 2d US Division in the line west of Kumhwa and assumed
responsibility for the sector at 280900 (KT) April. (FECOM) (SECRET)
