Weather: Weather was non-operational on two days of the period, clearing on the last day. Visibility generally limited. Forecast: Broken high and scattered middle clouds becoming broken to overcast multilayered clouds with rain. Visibility limited to 1 to 3 miles. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Enemy forces continued sporadic probing attacks across the front, the largest of which was company size. Most attacks, however, were of platoon size and smaller. Scattered enemy groups up to company size continued to oppose UN patrols in all sectors during the period. The most numerous patrol clashes and probing attacks occurred generally in the east-central sector from Kumsong east to the Yanggu road. Enemy mortar and artillery fire varied from light to moderate, with the heaviest fire in the east-central sector. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for the period 27-30 April is 2, 856, of which 1,875 were southbound. During the night of 28-29 April, vehicle sight- ings were negative because of weather. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a. General: UN forces continued aggressive patrol and raider operations in all sectors and repulsed a number of scattered enemy probing attacks. (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: The 1st US Marine Division reported no ground contact on the first day of the period and only light patrol. clashes throughout the re- mainder of the period. Elements of the 1st British Commonwealth Division repulsed one small probing attack in the area three miles south of Otan on 30 April. This Division reported no ground contact on 29 April and only one light patrol clash on 28 April.
