Weather: A narrow band of overcast middle and occasional broken to low clouds moved through Korea during the period, with some associated showers and thunderstorms. Broken high clouds and scattered low clouds are forecast for all of Korea. (FECOM) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Enemy activity continued very light during the period. It was highlighted by a flurry of squad- to platoon-size probing attacks against 1st ROK Division and 45th US Division positions west and southwest of Chorwon on 3 June. North- east of Chorwon on 3 and 4 June, two small-scale probing attacks, each preceded by artillery barrages of 100 rounds, were made against the 7th US Division. Else- where across the front, activity was limited to generally light opposition to United Nations patrols. The total of mortar and artillery fire received on UN positions during the past week was 20, 592 rounds - a substantial decrease from the previous week's total. The heaviest concentrations fell in the east-central sector. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for the period 2-4 June is 3, 740, of which 1, 966 were southbound. Ground observers of the 1st Marine Division reported an unusual volume of enemy vehicular activity, including trucks and tanks, during the night of 4-5 June in the area northeast of Panmunjom. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: United Nations forces repulsed enemy probing attacks in the west sector and continued aggressive patrol operations in all sectors. United Nations artillery fired on numerous enemy targets during the period, including vehicle convoys in the west sector. U.N. tanks engaged enemy positions and troop units in the west and west-central sectors during the period. The Ethiopian battalion relieved ele- ments of the 7th US Division on front line positions northeast of Chorwon.
