NAVY:
a. Naval and Marine aircraft flew a total of 377 sorties, including 217
from PRINCETON and BON HOMME RICHARD on the east coast, 90 from
OCEAN on the west coast, 44 by Patrons, and 26 by shore-based USMC. East
coast carrier aircraft flew interdiction missions from Chongjin to Wonsan on
the first and third day of the period; carriers replenished on the second day of
the period and conducted no offensive air operations. During the period, west
coast carrier aircraft struck targets near Chinnampo, Changyon, Ongjin, and
Chaeryong. The number of sorties flown against targets near Chinnampo and
Chaeryong on the third day of the period was not reported. (COMNAVFE)

b. Along the east coast, naval surface units, including BREMERTON
(CA), HELENA (CA), 9 destroyers and one destroyer-minesweeper, continued
the bombardment of enemy installations near Chongjin, Songjin, Tanchon,

C. U.N. surface units operating along the west coast, including NEW-
CASTLE (RN CL), BELFAST (RN CL), and two destroyers, fired on targets
on the Pipagot and Ongjin Peninsulas and in the Haeju approaches. No report
