Subject: Watch List Summary of
K. U. DZUNG (Kyi-ung Dzung)
2-37-142-110 No WTDR. The subject individual was placed on the Confidential
Export Control Watch List July 2):, 1951, on the basis of unevalu-
ated information received from a controlled American source to
the effect that Dzung was believed to be using the Far East
Trading Company, Hong Kong, as a front for the purchase of
strategic materials for the USSR. Purchases, it is reported,
are also made in Western Germany and then channeled to the USSR
through Switzerland under a partnership arrangement between the
subject and one George Motechan of Switzerland, Dzung supplying
funds for the purchases in Western Europe and Motschan reselling
the goods to the USSR. Reportedly, it is not unusual for Dzang
to write letters in the name of Meyer.
No information has been received to further substantiate or
supplement the foregoing report.
