Dunbar & Company, Ltd., was formed as a limited company 4/17/48 during 1947 to succeed the partnership, L. Dunber & Company, which was established in 1885. The firm, importers, whole- salers and brokers of flour, was owned and operated by Mr. Lambert Dunbar, American, and Mrs. Anna E. Matthews, British, and was reported to enjoy a favorable financial and commercial reputation. Several United States flour mills, as well as milling companies in Canada and Australia, were reportedly represented in Hong Kong and South China by the subject firm. WTDR dated In the cited report the American Consulate General at Hong Kong 8/9/50 quoted a notice which appeared in the Hong Kong Government Gazette of August 4, 1950, to the effect that L. Dunbar & Company, Ltd., at a general meeting held on July 24g 1950, passed a resolution of voluntary liquidation. 13-50-1652 While no additional information relative to the reported liqui- dation of L. Dunbar & Company, Ltd., has been received, a check of available records reveals that L. Dunbar & Company (1950), Ltd., P. O. Box 282, Hong Kong, was named in an application for export license submitted in March, 1951, by Pillsbury Mills, 2-142-707 Minneapolis, Minnesota, as the ultimate consignee of 20,000 lbs. of wheat flour. Moreover, by D-455 dated September 6, 1951, the Consulate General at Hong Kong reported that the Hong Kong authorities had issued import licenses to L. Dunbar & Company covering 89.29 long tons of U.
