August 5, 1945
Dear Uncle Harry,
I've been home a week now and in spite of all
Gilbert's effort have not done much work- - just having
a good time.
No one had Aunt Bess's telephone number so I
couldn't call her when I got in but Mother called
Mrs. Frank Wallace and asked her to tell Aunt Bess.
Miss Conway and Mr. Connley I think showed me
everything there is to be seen in Washington and
Miss Odem fixed me up in Mamma Truman's bed for the
night. I really enjoyed my two days in Washington.
I want to thank you again for making my trip
possible and tell you that I really do appreciate it.
