The National Broadcasting Company and its affiliated independent stations make their facilities available for another in the series of weekly forum programs designed to unite the workers, the farmers and the employers of the nation with their Government for the solution of the basic problems of the present and postwar future, MR. BANGHART This is Kenneth Banghart in Washington, D.C. Today the American Federation of Labor presents a distinguished guest, the Honorable Harry S. Truman, Vice President of the United States. His topic will be "What Americans 6an Look Forward to in the Next Four Years. 11 Joining in the discussion with him later will be the America United Panel, which today consists of Mr. William Green, President of the American Federation of Labor; Mr. Eric Johnston, President of the United States Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. James G. Patton, President of the National Farmers Union. And now, for a brief opening statement, here is Vice President Truman: MR, TRUMAN I am especially delighted to be on a radio program entitled "America United". Those two words hold the key to our future peace and prosperity. The only real danger to our national security, in peace as well as in war, lies in the possibility of disunity. As long as we Americans stay united, and preserve our cherished democratic ideals, we need fear no future. Our mighty nation was built by faith and hard work. RAUMAND These simple virtues will surely keep America sound and strong in the years to come. According to the announced program, I believe I am supposed to inform Americans what they may expect during the next four years.
