I think particularly the character of\nde Gaulle - his strength, courage and spirit\nas a man who speaks for France, as a man of\nextraordinary personal character built on a\ndedicated life, as one who is seldom wrong on\ngreat issues.\nI think Khrushchev might be portrayed as a man\nwho uses discretion as an instrument and who\nseeks without concealment to advance the interest\nof his cause, which we can not share.\nBut, of course, there are the moments of color\nand beauty - the Are de Triomphe, Versailles,\nSchoenbrunn - and the overwhelming crowed that\nlined the streets of the three cities during the\nPresident's visits."
