In this letter to Lyndon B. Johnson, Lady Bird Taylor writes about jobs she is doing around the house. She says she feels out of touch with what's happening in the world and comments on how he is right in the middle of all the action. She expresses her love for Johnson and says "I'd rather see you than anybody in the world."

In this letter, Lady Bird Taylor tells Lyndon B. Johnson that if he comes to Texas she will be with him "all the time you can put up with." She asks about offers he has received from New York and South Texas. She comments on his low spirits and encourages him to have enthusiasm for his work. She writes about the day's activities, and ends saying "we shall find the way out of our difficulties."

In this second letter of the day to Lyndon B. Johnson, Lady Bird Taylor writes that Dorris [Powell] was unable to get tickets for the play they had planned to attend in Shreveport. Taylor says she wants to take her father to a show and try to get him interested in something besides work. She didn't get a letter from Johnson today; she wishes she were with him; she will not quit writing to him.

In this second letter from October 29, Lady Bird Taylor tells Lyndon B. Johnson that she has mailed him the proofs of the pictures she had taken. She describes spending the day with her father and Dorris [Powell] in Shreveport and asks about Gene's [Boehringer] reaction to Johnson's plans to take a position in Austin.

In this letter, Lady Bird Taylor tells Lyndon B. Johnson she is happy to hear that Welly [Hopkins] and Senator [Alvin] Wirtz have arranged a job for him [in Austin], and she is looking forward to seeing him more often when he returns to Texas.

In this letter, Lady Bird Taylor is unhappy about Lyndon B. Johnson's last letter; she assures Johnson that she loves him. She says she received his pictures and will forward one to Alice and one to his mother. She describes purchasing lumber for fencing.

In this second letter from October 27, Lady Bird Taylor thanks Lyndon B. Johnson for the framed photograph he sent her and says she can't wait for everyone to see it. She writes that she declined an invitation from friends to go fishing and asks about Johnson's prospective employment and his plans for "coming West."

In this letter to Lyndon B. Johnson, Lady Bird Taylor writes that she is thrilled he is sending her a book about Nazism, and she evaluates the book "Roosevelt and His America" by [Bernard] Faÿ. She says that she is in a happier mood. She is delighted over the prospect of receiving Johnson's picture and she hopes to receive it before her trip to Dallas so that she can show it to her friends there. She plans to have a picture made for him while in Dallas.

In this letter to Lyndon B. Johnson, Lady Bird Taylor writes how she received two letters from him that day and says sending letters by special delivery makes no difference in the time of delivery. She comments on the clippings he sent, mentions the book she is reading, asks about the General Electric (GE) job offer, says she is looking at the National Broadcast Company (NBC) notebooks he sent, and tells him she will go to town tomorrow and bring home her chairs. She ends with the wish that her letters were more clever, bright and interesting.

In this letter to Lyndon B. Johnson, Lady Bird Taylor comments on his "lamb of a letter" and asks about his law school courses. She writes about how her work around the house is progressing, how she misses her friends in Austin and their good conversation. She mentions seeing the Dodge Hotel in Travel Magazine. She is proud that Johnson is able to help people and happy about a possible Thanksgiving visit from Johnson.

In this letter to Lyndon B. Johnson, Lady Bird Taylor explains that she did not write yesterday because she drove to Dallas with a good friend and spent the night there. She asks Johnson to tell her what is troubling him and tells him that she received a picture of him that he had sent. She writes that he looks arrogant in the picture, but the more she looks at it, the more she likes it.

In this letter to Lyndon B. Johnson, Lady Bird Taylor comments on the briefcase Bob [Jackson] and [Arthur] Perry gave him as a gift and goes on to tell him about her busy day on Sunday, her dinner guests, and an upcoming trip to Alabama to get Aunt Effie. She closes by telling Johnson she adores him.
