On this Chiang matter. Is this something you recommend?
E:
No. I don't know anything other than what John King told
me. They a dvised him that the State Department security
operation is less than desirable. King felt that prudence
required that we use the best protective people we had
available. As a matter of fact, we have a meeting with
Mosbacher on Monday and will discuss putting all the
protection for the Heads of State under one office.
K:
Why should Mosbacher care? I intend to take a very hard
line on this one.
E:
It comes under him. I should think if the President wants
to extend extra protection to these people, we should do it.
K:
Do you have a few minutes this morning? I would like to
talk to you.
E:
I will be down in about 15 minutes.
