TELECON
The President/Mr. Kissinger
2:55 p. m. , April 24, 1970
P:
Can you hear me, Henry [he was calling from the helicopter
en route to Camp David].
K:
Yes, Mr. President.
P:
I want you to, if you possibly can, to see Stennis this afternoon,
particularly in order to enlist him (not telling him what we plan) on
the importance of doing something along the lines of what we talked
about.
K:
I understand and will take care of it.
P:
I will call you in about an hour.
lds
(Mr. Kissinger arranged for Senator Stennis to come to the WH to
meet with him at 3:30 -- in view of K's heavy schedule of meetings,
he could not XXX to the Senator's office.)
