TELECON Mr. Kissinger/Secretary Laird 2:30 p. m., April 24, 1970 L: Good morning, Henry. K: Mel, it's afternoon. L: X I just got through with Dr. Draper and the President of Johns Hopkins, and I've lost track of time. K: You politicians give the academicians too much credit. I know Linc Gordon (Pres of Johns Hopkins), and he is a good man. L: I like Dr. Draper, too; I've known him a long time. K: The President keeps bugging me on two things: (a) tac air, but I think I have that under control; and (b) can you do the B-52 - things for a while. I am ordered to tell you that. May I tell him they will be done? L: Sure, we can put them in. I think we have one tonight and we have one tomorrow. It takes 36 hours to cycle it. K: Cycle them through next week. Another subject: he may want to have a meeting on Sunday -- he isn't sure. Will you be in town? L: I will be in town on Sunday afternoon. If you could make it at 4:30 or 5:00, it would suit me better. K: Subject to his approval, of course, we can do that. lds
