P: OK, I will work on domestic things. What about Laird?
K: We can do it tomorrow morning.
P: I want him to think he is doing a good job. (He's been working hard.)
K: About 9: 30.
P: Have him come over and give me a briefing.
K: Moorer too?
P: Yes. We have the whole busines ? ? ? ? bombing of the North.
Our
options have opened up. I think this guy is gung ho.
K: He is good and has a lot more vigor than Wheeler. The PXXX VP thinks that
the public is strongly with you. He thought the winning of Byrd in W. Va. was
good. He got 88% of the vote.
P: Did he have any opposition?
K: From the doves.
P: I have Ehrlichman here now.
