B: Are you doing anything Saturday at lunch?
K: Well, for one thing I have Nancy Maginnes here.
B: We can have her too.
K: Can we keep that open?
B: Yes. I d like him to meet you in a more extended way. He was
skiing in Vermont with us and he asked about you.
K: What did you tell him?
B: I told him a little about you and our plans and SO on, but I
haven't mentioned the book at all.
K: Keep lunch on Saturday tentatively open and I 11 discuss it.
B: We can have it at the house and have Nancy along and have Muffie.
K: That would be great. I'm a great admirer of your wife.
B: Okay. Many thanks for calling and I'11 arrange everything for the toasts.
K: Okay. And I shall be brief and laudatory.
B: I am not very good at this.
K: Well, I get embarrassed. But I don't make friends easily and I
consider
I value very much having had the chance to make his friendship.
B: I twould mean a lot to him.
K: I'd like to say that and that's why I offered it. How many people will be
there?
B: 24. Unfortunately, the Richardsons just cancelled. He had to go to
California.
K: I am told that. I don't know what it is about. I'm told he is meeting
with the Las Angeles times group on Friday. I don't wk know whether it has
anything to do with the President.
