Telcon Bill Bundy April 24, 1973; 12:38 p.m. K: Hello. B: Henry. How are you? K: Mac. How are you? B: It's Bill. K: Oh, Bill. How are you? B: I'm fine, except that I bring you the very sad news that Ham died this morning. K: Oh, isn't that horrible. When is the funeral? B: We don't know yet, Henry. I'll let you know as quickly as we know. And he really was not himself in the last two months, as you probably heard. K: I heard that, yes. heard that. B: So, I'm afraid there wasn't much to live for, but I'm afraid that doesn't diminish the blow. K: No. B: So I just thought you ought to know. K: Will you let me know about when the B: I will pass the word just as quickly as I know. K: Good. If there is anything I can do. One never can do anything in a case like this. B: Well, I suppose they may ask you for a statement or something of that sort, but let's leave that for the press. K: Right. Of course I'll do that. B: Right. And your speech was first-class - my friend. K: Thank you, my friend.
