TELECON Dobrynin 2/17/72 8:25 a. m. D: I have to tell you good-bye. K: I have a little note for you on that issue you handed me something, but we have so many people coming in here I will send it over to you, or ifxxx after we leave I will have someone pick it up from General Haig. D: I will send the same man. K; All right, around 11:00. I can tell you now it's a very conciliatory note. Otherwise, for your information, I would pay no attention to the news stories of massive economic aid programs we are starting. This is for your information there is absolutely no truth in it. D: Well, thank you for your last words before going. You are leaving around 10:00? K: Yes, but we have a meeting here of Congressional people at 9:00. D: But no one is going from there? K: From the Congress? D: Yes. K: No D: Thank you very much for calling. K: Okay, and you will have someone pick it up? D: Yes, around 11:00. K: And if you need to get a message to me, get it through General Haig. We have quick communications and it's very secure. D: okay and I will mention to my leaders that we can be in tohch in case. K: Exactly, and I will see you very soon after we get back -- within two days. D: Okay Henry, have a happy landing and come back. K: I understand some of my colleagues want to leave me there. If you hear some- thing happened to me in a plane crash in Mongolia, don't believe it. D: I will not.
