CF-1201 (R5-69) PRE DEC 14 THE WHITE HOUSE RS1/S* WASHINGTON December 13, 1971 MEMORANDUM FOR JOHN EHRLICHMAN FROM: SALLYANNE PAYTON RE: STANFORD LAW SCHOOL X Have you seen the enclosed Board of Visitors report? If you are thinking of giving to the school this year, may I encourage you to earmark your contribution for the Wilson F. Halley Fund. Wilson was a classmate of mine who left law school after the second year in order to command an infantry troop in Vietnam, where he was killed in action on the day before Thanksgiving 1968. The Fund was initiated by his parents and friends, and will become an endowment if we can raise $10,000 in ten years. The scholarship made possible by the Fund is designated for a minority student. News from the Stanford front is that all is well. I understand that the Stanford Club here is thinking of having a gala reception for Mr. Justice Rehnquist.
