KAY COPY February 5, 1959 Mr. Beglar V. Navassardian American Committee for the Independence of Armenia 212 Stuart Street Boston 16, Massachusetts Dear Mr. Navassardian: On behalf of the Vice President, I wish to acknowledge your letter of January 28 concerning the 38th Anniversary of the Armenian Revolt which will be celebrated in Boston on February 22. I can assure you that your interest in wri- ting to him is greatly appreciated. However, he considers that a statement of the type you request, which would of necessity have an official connotation, could properly come only from either the President or the Statectary of State. I know that the Vice President would want me to extend his best wishes to you. Sincerely, R. E. Cushman, Jr. Executive Assistant to the Vice President Reproduced at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum
