Dear Walter:
I would like to say that it was good to hear from
you this past week. I certainly would have enjoyed
seeing you again and meeting your children when you
were visiting in Washington, but unfortunately upon my
return from Africa the official schedule was exceptionally
heavy and I have had to forego the pleasure of seeing
some of my good friends.
I hope you will let me know the next time you and
your family are planning a visit to Washington so that
a mutually convenient time can be arranged for us to
get together. It would be a pleasure to have a chance
to talk about our Law School days again.
With every good wish,
Sincerely,
Duk nicen
Richard Nixon

OFFICE BE THE VICE PRESIDENT
Your Excellency:
Our court is in recess for this week. Therefore, we have
planned to visit Washington. My son and daughter aged 15, and 13,
respectively will accompany us.
I have hesitated to write this note. But my favorite morning
newspaper says that you have recovered from your indisposition.
I don't know how you do it.
I don't have any desire to trespass on your time, but if I
can have the children say hello to you when we are at the Capitol,
I shall appreciate it. If you were in better shape, I should like
to suggest a game of golf.
Cong. Sadlak's office or Senator Purtell will assist us with
the rest of our tour.
Sincerely
yours,
to alled paid had. Watent Walter Duke J. Law Sidor '35 Sidor

My Dear Mr. Vice-President:
You cannot imagine how happy my family and I
were made by your telegram Thursday Feb. 18th. It was
nice to greet you at New Haven on Feb. 11th and receive
your personal congratulations, but it was such a pleasant
surprise to get the telegram during my installation by
Governor John Lodge. May I express to you my most
sincere thanks.
It seems that you have led the way for Duke Law
grads to make their way in the world. We know of the
wonderful way in which you are spreading the name of
Duke Law School. We are all proud of your accomplishments.
The demands which are made upon your time leave
me wondering whether you are able to lead any kind of a
home life. May I recommend the judiciary as a place where
you can get some rest from public demands.
Your kindness and thoughtfulness on the most
important day of my life shall ever be in my memory.
Gratefully,
Walter J. Sidor
