-2- must be other sources of power. The effect of radium upon zine sulphide is not a chemical, but a physical action. - Zine sulphide must be of exceptional purity to give best results. Impurities offer great resistance. Purity of zine sulphide is obtained by heating to a specially high temperature, in order to be highly sensitive to the effect of radium. An excellent test for zine sulphide is the action of red light upon it. Two samples of zine sulphide exposed to the sun will show equal luminosity, whereas one may be entirely inferior to the other when exposed to red light. Our material is as good one year after the influence of radium, as at the time it is charged. Dr. Sochocky makes further general comments on zine sulphide, pointing out methods, necessity and facts about zine sulphide in order to meet arguments about comparative luminosity. The more radium it is necessary to use to excite zinc sulphide the more rapidly its purity decomposes. UNDARK hás clearly a longer life in its luminosity than any lother luminous material manufactured. As far as manufacturing is concerned this Company is absolutely up-to- date in this industry. - Constant improved product has been put out constantly with no announcement of the fact to the trade. - The moment crystals of zine sulphide are crushed the luminosity is gone. (?) Dr. Sochocky explained the actions of luminosity, which are demonstrated by curves on charts, explaining high degrees of luminosity at the start and quick drops.
