can be demonstrated by salesmen to customers.
Also, demonstration of breaking down the lighting
qualities of crystals when crushed, for instance in
improper application. The adhesive is oxidized
by the effect of radium which causes the luminous
dial to turn brown As Pine pitch, which is light in
color, turns brown when exposed for sometime to light.
Dr. Sochocky requests that sulesmen remember all questions
asked by customers. While nine out of ten questions
may be valueless, the tenth may be of service ta the
plant.
lasts
The effects of polonium is only 140 days, but decays very
very rapidly. The effect of mesothorium will last longer
than polonium. Radium effects zine by means of alpha rays.
Alpha rays represents the greatest energy of radium, but
it is not penetrating. The beta ray penetrates. Out of
1000 alpha rays near the zine only 100 penetrated.
Adhesive which is most penetrable by alpha rays must be
used.
Charts will be furnished on all last material, showing
exact comparisons in immediate luminosity and lasting
qualities.
Radio active material is calculated in half light.
Hadium dies in 1,700 yearys. Mesothorium is sufficient
for two year luminosity, beyond that radium is necessary
