lir. Donald 0. A. Butts,
Pine Beach,
N. J.
My dear Mr. Butts:
of course a great deal of misinformation has appeared
in recent miblicity concerning what some people who have no kmowledge
of radioactivity are pleased to torm "radium necrosis."
Quite
naturally, however, tre have had extensive investigations made and
are contimuing this work not only at our plant but at other plants.
The vhole subject will be compiled and I presume eventually published.
Unfortunately the situation, which is at best very
circunstantial, has been seized upon and a suit has been brought against
this company for damages and apparently competing consercial firms are
using the publicity in an effort to win some of our business. Until this
situation has been cleared, it seems more desirable not to distribute
any technical information for publication.
The question is being probed to the limit and exhaustive
experimental worl is being carried on.
We trust that it vill be
available for you before your worl is completed.
In the meantime, if you have any data that you consider in
any way hars any bearing on this subject, would you be good enough to let
us have it ?
Yours truly,
President e
