Samuel May Jr. writes to William Lloyd Garrison that he is returning N. Barney’s note on Francis Jackson’s fund to Garrison with thanks. May then mentions a few people who showed positive reactions to the [recently published] letter of Garrison. In the postscript, May relates Samuel Sewall’s remark that Wendell Phillips should honor the Supreme Court decision on Francis Jackson’s fund.
