Dorothy CALLS MADE FRIDAY, MAY 14 Mrs. Harold Phelps. They are already working hard phoning their friends, etc. They will certainly continue to do all they can. Mr. Neil Weathers. They are all concerned about what has been happening lately. You have four votes in their household, and they will tell all their neighbors they have to vote on Tuesday. They hope to catch a glimpse of you and Mrs. Ford in church on Sunday. They are members of the same church. Harold Wilmarth. John Baxter already had contacted him about being sure to get the "chain of ten" moving. He and his wife have been hard at work and they will definitely continue. He very much appreciated my call. (Note: No one here called Mr. Baxter--that means that someone else contacted him and he is now working on his own list!) Mrs. Carl Gill (he is with the 40 & 8 club) They definitely will be glad to help. He has already talked to several of their friends, and they will certainly continue. Mrs. Rudel Miller (he is with the Michigan Sport Sages) . They will be out of town on Tuesday so I told them how to go about etting their absentee ballots. She said they would try. She said they would also talk to their friends to urge them to vote. James Trimpe. He will certainly be glad to talk to some of their friends to urge them to vote. He was glad I called. (From 30-30 Club) Mrs. Burgess Wisner. Their whole family is out working. They are checking with older people to be sure they have their absentee ballots, their son and daughter are busy at work at their respective schools. She is out contacting friends, and he is talking to all the people at his plant. Very encouraging report. John Heinzelman. They already have been working on it. He is doing some "one man campaigning" on his own and is contacting all his friends. They are rounding up all the members of the 30-30 Club so they can meet you at the plane tomorrow. He emphasized that he will do everything possible to help you. Sue Hanson (Harold Heller's secretary) He was out of town on business, but Sue said she will pass along my message. She also said that she would contact her friends to be sure they get out to vote. James Klynstra, Jr. (Kent Optimist Club) He will be more than FORD to help. the Call received: Portage Central High School band has been in town since Tuesday.
