Meeting with the President
Item 1. Atomic Energy
I reported to the President that the Department was making a
complete review of the matter of international control and expressed
the strong hope that no decisions would be necessary until we had
had an opportunity to give the matter real thought and give the
President our best judgment.
The President assured me that he was not going to be hurried
into decisions and that none would be made until he and I had a chance
to discuss the matter thoroughly.
