Field Order #3 from Captain J. A. Fouilhoux

Headquarters 129th F.A. Payrou 31 August 1918 2:00 P.M. to FIELD ORDER #3 RECEIVED Lambert Map 1 Co 20,000 1. a. The batteries of the 139th F.A. will leave their positions to remain at the echelon until further orders. The mon will bivduac in their respective organization areas. b. The Frenoh batteries will assure the mission of barrage and counter preparation from 1 September 18 o'olock. From this time until the movement of withdrawal the American batteries will aot in support of the French batteries. ILa.The Commanding Officer of the 2nd Battalion will leave during the night 31 August - 1 September, and will assume command of the echelon until the arrival of the Regimental Commander. His Adjutant will remain at Larchey until the last battery of his Battalion has left for the echelon, he will report his departure by phone, by code, to Regimental Headquarters. b. The Commanding Officer of the lst Battalion will leave during the night 1-3 September, after the last battery of his Battalion has left, he will report his departure by phone, by code, to Regimental Headquarters. O. The French Commander of the relieving Artillery will assume Command 1 September 18 hour. The Regimental Commander will leave shortly after that time and will be found at the echelon Hdqrs. at Kruth. III. a. All caissons and fourgons not needed will leave during the night 31 August - 1 September. b. Battery A will leave ita position during the night 1-3 September using the road Widenbachmur o. One platoon of Battery ,B and Battery F will be re- lieved during the day September 1. The (battery will leave during the night 1-3 September. (B Battery will start in time to travel over the first portion of the road during the latter part of the day. Battery F will use the road by RANSPACH, & ODEREN. d. Battery C will leave during the night 1-3 September using the road Widenbachmux Valley Huss Krutz. e. Battery D will leave during the night 31 August - 1 September, using the road Huss-Kruth. f. One platoon of Battery E will be relieved during the night 31 August - 1 September, the other platoon will be relieved dur- ing the 1-2 September night. As soon as relieved they will proceed immediately to the echelon.
