Wilson: x 161 By Executive Order of December fifth, I have created a Committee to be known as the President's Committee on Civil Rights, # x PP71165 and I am asking you to serve as Chairman. x I am enclosing, for your information, a copy of the Executive Order, as well as a copy of my statement issued in announcing the creation of the Committee. A list of the members of the Committee and their addresses is also attached. The work to be undertaken is fully set forth in the Order, and I very much hope that the Committee can be organized at an early date.
