as January 10, 1947 82.7 Dear Mr. Forster: I have received your note, together with the sketch of the President which you forwarded and am sorry indeed that I must again give you an unfavorable reply. The fact is, however, these opening months of the new Congress are such busy ones for the President, that we are asking his friends to excuse x72-7 him from all autographing for the time being. I know, however, you will understand and will wish to cooperate. We are returning your sketch under separate cover and I regret to state that it was torn in transit.
