Dear Mr. Fodor:
Secretary Hassett has forwarded
your letter of April 12th to me for
acknowledgment.
I am awfully sorry that we will
be unable to comply with your request for
an autographed picture of the President.

It so happens that the President has been
unusually busy the past few months and we
have had to ask his friends to excuse him
from all autographing. I am sure you will
understand the situation.
