My dear Mrs. Burckhalter:
The reception Mrs. Truman has had
for the members of the P.E.O. may have in-
cluded some of the wives of the Members of
the Congress but the reception was not pri-
marily for them but for the group of the
P.E.O. Mrs. Truman appreciates your very
natural desire to make the subject of
your program as interesting and cover as
broad a field as possible. She is sorry,
however, that for many years it has been
the custom at the White House not to give
out lists of guests invited to the recep-
tions.
Mrs. Truman sends her regrets
that she can not help you in this matter
in which you are so much interested.
