SINO-SOVIET
The Soviet Union has pulled back its forces 31 miles
from the Sino-Soviet border in a compromise intended
to avert armed clashes with Red Chinese troops,
Communist diplomats said. Moscow decided to with-
draw its forces in a "unilateral move, " they said.

Brezhnev called on all European nations to "make

HIJACKED SHIP -
India has refused to act as neutral observer at the
CAMBODIA
release of the hijacked munitions ship Columbia Eagle.
Presumably the Indians want no connection with the
chartered freighter's cargo of bombs for the US Air
Force in Thailand. Cambodian Premier Gen. Lon Nol
told a news conference that the ship could be released
any time, but added that his government wanted neutral
observers present.

predicted that Israel will try to involve the Soviets in a
