I know you will not think me presurptuous for this is really an interesting case. Let me tell you. Under separate cover I am sending you an embroidered portrait of President Roosevelt on which a cer- tain Korean woman worked for one year 16 hours a day. After you have placed it in different lights you will see how splen- didly the work is done. Rev. W. M. Clark, D.D. is leaving for America this week and is carrying the portrait to his home, from where he will post it to you. The young lady had a large frame on the picture but it could not be carried that way, SO we have taken the frame off, and I am going to ask you to have it suitably framed with the understanding that you will send me the complete bill for all of your expenses. I am enclosing the following: (1) Picture of President Roosevelt from which this young lady made the portrait. (2) Picture of the young lady. (3) A letter written in Korean which she wishes to accompany the gift to the President. (4) A translation of this letter.
