MEMORANDUM FOR THE FILES
Subject: Hoey Sex Pervert Investigation.
Mr. Flanagan, Counsel of the Hoey Subcommittee, called
me last Friday, July 21, 1950, to give me a progress report on
the investigation SO far.
He said that they had held a number of executive sessions,
and that there had been no objection so far from the minority to
the entire hearings being held in executive sessions. Up-to-date
they have heard security officers from a number of agencies, in-
cluding military. They expect to hear medical witnesses next.
He also said that the Subcommittee was sending out a
questionnaire to all principal agencies asking them a series of
questions about what their procedures were for dealing with homo-
sexual problems and how they operated.
Flanagan said he would keep me fürther advised as to how
things go along.
