WEBB
British rejected new Iran proposal of oil settlement as there was
nothing new proposed. British however followed President's proposal
not to use force to hold the oil fields. Iran has seized the fields
yesterday. Unless there is a change in govt in Iran the situation will
continue to be distressing.
De Gasperi Italian Prime Minister has left Washington very pleased
with his reception.
LOVETT
There is too much delay in settling strikes in defense plants.
The govt machinery to settle strikes is too slow. Information which is
top secret has been carried in press and magazines which is gained
from 2 sources.
(1) Contractors on top secret projects.
(2) Military personnel.
Every effort will be made to gag these people who are endangering
our national security.
CHAPMAN
We are having a power shortage in North West due to extended dry
weather.
