1194 December 5, 1945 My dear Mr. Shain: This is in response to your tele- phone call to my office on November 30th. I am very sorry that we cannot ar- range for you to see the President while you are stopping in Baltimore. I know I do not have to tell you, however, how extremely busy he has been for these past few months, and how difficult he is finding it to see many of his good friends, whom under more leisurely cir- cumstances, he would so enjoy. With best wishes, Very sincerely yours, MATTHEW J. CONNELLY Secretary to the President. # Mr. Bill Shain, A.G.W.I. Lines, c/o R. D.jHerd, Baltimore Maryland. rlk
