MEMORANDUM FOR: Secretary of Commerce
FROM:
The President
I read with a great deal of interest
the letters from the various Chinese people in
this country.
I know very little about Chinese
politics. The one thing I am interested in is
to see a strong China with a Democratic form of
Government friendly to us. It is our only salva-
tion for a peaceful Pacific policy.
