CAPITOL PAGE SCHOOL
ERNEST L. KENDALL, Principal
U. S. CAPITOL
WASHINGTON, D. C.
The perhaps time. spring
May 8, 1947.
My dear Mrs. Truman:
A number of our students have asked
me regarding the possibilities of a visit
to the White House this spring, and, in that
regard, I am wondering if there will be a
place on your social calendar for such an
event. The boys always look forward to the
supreme occasion at the White House and since
most of the boys are new this year, it would
be an outstanding experience for them. The
number who would attend would be smaller than
that of last year.
Just the experience of going to the
movies in the White House would be satis-
fying, if a luncheon or a picnic luncheon
can not be arranged. A Saturday or Sunday
date is about the only possible time because
of the boys' lengthy everyday duties at the
Capitol.
Trusting that you will not consider
this an imposition upon your grand hospitality,
I shall look forward to hearing from you at
your early convenience.
Sincerely yours,
Great L. tendace
HARRY CALL THE THEMAS
&
Principal.
Mrs. Bess Truman,
The White House.
