T said, Mr. Kissinger, I am back again. The situation is as
I
have expressed it. This coke problem is a real tight serious one.
We have been talking to the Roumanians and we have not made any
concrete offers yet, but we did promise to get them an answer by
Thursday, when I understand, the head of the mission is returning
to Roumania.
K said, Right. T: However, we are going to expedite our look
at this time and do the best we can and I will have something to tell
you prior to your meeting tomorrow, if that is satisfactory.
K: That will be most satisfactory.
T: I will call you; I can't say what time because I will be traveling
but I will be in touch with you before your meeting at 2:30 if that
is satisfactory.
K: Will you talk to General Haig, my deputy, if I am not available?
T: Yes. What time will you be back?
K: Between 12:00 and 1:00.
T: That is probably the time I will be gone.
K: From 12:00 on you can assume that I will be in my office.
T: As soon as I am able to run this thing down I will be in touch
with you.
K: OK.
