MSS DIVLIB CONG. August 14, 1971 11:55 a. m. Dr. Kissinger's conversation with the President Hello, Henry. HAK: Mr. President. Any progress on that sort of setting up that Committee approach to the aid to Pakistan? HAK: Yes, I talked to Irwin about it this morning. How do you like the idea? HAK: He thinks it is a good idea and I think we can move on it probably on Tuesday. Good. That's good enough. That's plenty of time. HAK: Oh yes. I think it puts an umbrella and you can pick all sorts of liberals that are interested in basically - - just be sure they are interested in refugees. Right? HAK: Right. Because we are taking a - - I mean we are announcing the more resilience one on Monday. Right. HAK: So there will be some news on that. That's good. O.K. Fine. You take off tonight? HAK: I take off first thing in the morning, Mr. President. Well, good luck. HAK: And I worked with Bunker yesterday on just putting everything we've said into aid propositions. So -- -- which he thinks he can sell to Thieu, and I think I am going to peddle those SO that we have completed our record. So, when people say did you -- why didn's you have a reply to the seven points, well this was our reply. And we got kicked in the teeth. Right.
