I've been there.
L:
You were there once before, I remember. I'm still quoting some
of your remarks about Bismark and SO on but I just wanted to reinforce
their invitation. I think you have somewhere a formal invitation.
K:
Let me tell you something. A friend of mine from the Rockefeller office
wrote me a letter congratulating me for being appointed Secretary of
State two months ago. He received a reply last week thanking him for
his helpful suggestions on the Middle East crisis.
L:
Yeah, I know.
K:
Signed by the Asst. Secretary for Public Affairs. So where that
damn thing is in the State Department I have no way of knowning.
L:
But just put it down and if you can, everybody would love to have
you and appreciate your being there.
K:
December 8. It can't be the 7th.
L:
No, it's set in concrete because it's a Saturday night and I guess for
that reason they've made the arrangements for the hall and it's a
small intimate thing.
K:
I remember it very well and had alot of fun. Look, I'll do my best
to make it.
L:
Alright. I'll tell them that and if the President, whoever it is, I'm not
sure, wants to do something more about getting something to you so
you'll have it for.
K:
I think I haven't got a formal invitation but that doesn't prove a thing.
L:
I'll tell them to do that. Are you bearing up alright? You didn't
realize it but they had a good couple of shots of you at the football
game yesterday.
K:
No, I didn't realize that.
L:
Yes, you were eating peanuts. You've got to watch it you know.
K:
I really have to be
L:
Where that camera is on you. Well it was a great trip from all accounts.
K:
We had alot of fun and I think we did some good. OK. Peter thanks. Bye.
